Emerald ash borer (EAB) was first confirmed in the state of Connecticut in New Haven County on July 16, 2012 (Official 2012 Press Release).

EAB has been detected in all eight counties of Connecticut.

Quarantine:

Connecticut has an active quarantine to prevent the spread of EAB.

  • The quarantine restricts the movement of ash logs, hardwood firewood, yard waste, and ash nursery stock out of the state. Connecticut also bans the importation of firewood from New York or Massachusetts unless it is properly certified as not originating from an infested area.
